The full name of this leather is veau taurillon clemence. Made out of baby bull, it is similar to togo leather, although it has a flatter grain and a lot more slouch to it. Its main problem occurs when the grain makes its way up to the surface, which leads to cracks along the edges. Hermes has been using this leather prominently since the 1980s due to its resistance and ability to refurbish it to look brand new. This is a naturally grained leather made from cowhide that goes through a complicated process. It is stretched out in 8 separate directions, which makes the leather as tough and rigid as the box calf. It is also resistant against scratches, but deeper ones will ruin the two tone effect the leather has thanks to a two dye process.
